The Craft Space with a $0 Budget

Making a Craft Space/Room with ZERO bucks!

I have always wanted a REAL craft room!

When we bought our house there were two rooms that were candidates...
the basement storage room ended up being the winner!
I was rooting for the other one but it ended up being a guest room.
But...I'm just happy I get a craft room at all!

I'd love to fancy it up like all the fabulous rooms on Pinterest...

Like this one...

or perhaps this one...

But for now...with ZERO dollars to spend on a Craft Room...this one will have to do!

Yes, those are Costco tables!  So?!?

The dresser is from IKEA...cost $40 when we bought it two years ago.
Lucky for me...it was a spare and was just sitting there all empty and sad!
NOT ANYMORE!

My Jar O' Chipboard Letters...think this was once a cookie jar or something...not sure!

It's amazing to me that I had all these wonderful storage containers...and tray...just laying around!

The bookcases are also IKEA...bought two years ago...can't remember how much we spent.

Uh...just noticed I'm missing the Y in FAMILY!  Hmmm...

Here are a few BEFORE shots....
but these aren't the REAL before shots...
these are the midway to organizing BEFORE shots!

Now...this is what my 'family room' now looks like...

and I have NO CLUE where I'm going to put all this stuff!

Sigh...

  1. I love your craft room, I am also on a zero dollar for craft room budget. I use a folding table for my main work space as well, then if I ever need more room for sewing something large i can scoot it away from the wall without much of a disruption.

  3. Your craft room is fabulous...and so is your entire blog. I was drawn here to see something someone pinned on Pinterest - then one thing led to another. I skimmed through the WHOLE THING. You are so creative and thrifty -- and a very clear tutorial giver :)
Keep up the good work. I will be back to see the 52-week project. Oh, just so you you know - you have inspired me to get a few things done - I am cleaning my microwave with your special Lemony Cleaner at this very moment, saving my 13 hundred bucks with you, and I will soon be sporting your no-sew ruffly scarf.
